Transferring to My New School
An event from my past that has shaped the person I am today is when I transferred from my old school to my new one. When I was in the first grade I did not like school at all and I didn’t understand why I had to go. I had trouble learning from my teachers at my old school and I never really grasped all of the concepts taught in first grade. I liked to play and run in the school yard when I was six years old, but I didn’t enjoy doing my school work. The only reason I transferred to new school was because my old school was closing. Academically, things were not going well for me, but everything changed when I started to go to my new school. |
Six Pillars of Character Essay
As a youth of society, I know that during a teen’s adolescence, he or she is finding where they belong and what they value. This may cause conflict with adults, but this is just how adolescent puberty goes. Teens go through life constantly struggling to do the right thing and be themselves. This time can be very confusing, which is why many adolescents tend to lack the six pillars of character, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. The one that I think is most lacking in today’s youth is caring. |
Quotes Essay
Everyone has problems, but we all have different ways of dealing with them. Some people ignore their problems, while others stress over them. There will always be problems in our world and letting them take over our lives is not the solution. Problems are usually associated with negative thoughts and distraught, but one man Duke Ellington saw that problems had potential to be more than what everyone sees them as. His perspective of problems has helped me to understand that it's not about succeeding or failing, it's about doing your best and fulfilling your own expectations. |
Respect Life Prayer
Guardian Angels pray for us, especially potential mothers. That they may see the joy in having a baby, the love and trust that comes with a child’s life, and the self fulfillment and completion a mother feels from her newborn. Leaving an unborn child to die deprives a future youth of the happiness and accomplishments in life of what might have been. We pray that doctors and nurses encourage potential mothers to not abort their baby. The life of that child is too precious to waste. May God bless us all to make the right choice between the life and death of an unborn child. Amen. |
Religious Freedom Essay
There are many religions throughout the world, Catholicism, Christianity, Presbyterianism, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Confucianism are just a few. I am a Catholic and I believe in one God, his son Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Church, and the pope that speaks on behalf of God. I believe in Catholicism because I love God and I know he loves all of us. God is our friend, our creator, and our heavenly father. He gave us Jesus, who sacrificed himself in order to save us from sin. Being a Catholic has shaped me to be who I am today, and without my religion, I would be lost. |
Seven Last Words Reflection: I Thirst
The fifth last word of Jesus Christ was, “I thirst”. When Jesus said this, a jar full of sour wine was standing there, so the soldiers put a sponge full of the wine on a branch of hyssop and held it to His mouth. The wine moistened His lips and prolonged His suffering. During His whole journey from the city of Jerusalem to Golgotha He humbled himself and went through the pain and suffering without complaining. He suffered spiritually and physically. After being crowned with thorns, nailed to the cross, and losing blood, Jesus needed water. He is the Son of God, but he still needed to quench his thirst. He has a divine and human nature which means that He understands our physical suffering and has experienced it too. He was humiliated and tormented by the soldiers. This was the first time he complained of His suffering because not only was Jesus in pain, he was also feeling abandoned by his Heavenly Father. He seeks love from us, his people, and suffers for our sin and salvation. |
This is my Book in a Bag Project. For this project, I had to put all the aspects of my book into a brown paper bag. The book that I chose was The View from Saturday. On the outside of my bag, I have the title, author, summary, characters, and my favorite part. Inside my bag, I defined ten vocabulary words and ten questions from the book, and five objects that represented the main characters of the book.

This is my literature project. I designed a card for the main character of my story, Deep Blue. It is about a mermaid princess named Serafina, who is one of the six mermaids who were chosen by the sea witches. They were summoned because a terrible monster known as Abbadon is about to be unleashed and they are the only ones who can defeat it. They all have their own special talents and together they are even stronger. I enjoyed reading Deep Blue because of it's plot and it's imaginative characters and scenery. Overall, it was a whimsical fiction book and every page was an adventure.

“Of Mice and Men” Essay Test
The pros of George’s decision to kill Lennie are that Lennie cannot hurt anyone anymore and he did not have to suffer from being an outsider. Lennie’s learning disability made life as an adult difficult for him and George put Lennie to rest by killing him. Another pro is that Lennie did not have to die at the hands of the other men. The other men, such as Curley, may have even tortured Lennie before they killed him. George was also able to kill Lennie while he was still happy and thinking about his dream of tending the rabbits. The cons of George’s decision to kill Lennie are that George killed his best friend and their dream of owning a ranch had also died with Lennie. |
Science Fair Board
"Brainstormers" This is my Science Fair Board. My question was, "Does reading a fiction book affect a person's imagination?" My project is about how reading a fiction book affects a person’s imagination. This is important because most people could brainstorm better ideas from reading books. This could help children and adults to have better ideas and plans. In my test, my independent variable was pages read in a fiction book. |
Physical Science Reflection
I deserve this grade because I always take my notes to be prepared for reading checks and quizzes. When we work on section assessments in class, I help my classmates in my table with their responses too. I also put a lot of effort and creativity in my projects and cover pages. I will maintain and improve my effort in Science for the year by continuing to participate in science class by asking strategic science questions. I will also put more effort into my Vocabulary Logs and labs. I will also continue to study for midterms and quizzes and put a lot of color and descriptions in my projects. |
U.S. Cultural Project
Independence day is a day that celebrates and commemorates the anniversary of America’s national independence. As Americans, we celebrate Independence day on July 4th with fireworks, patriotic songs, parades, picnics, barbecues, fairs, concerts, baseball games, and family reunions. It is a day where we praise our nation’s heritage, laws, history, society, and people. In 1776, Americans celebrated with mock funerals for King George Ⅲ, to symbolize the death of the monarchy and liberty for America. While the Revolutionary war was going on, Americans still celebrated Independence Day by drinking rum. |
